The full moon is a time to work on ones psychic abilities and to remove blocks of any kind because the full moon is a time of letting go and embracing ones power and strength. The full moon is best used for banishing unwanted influences in your life. Think of it as ‘shining a light’ on issues or challenges. For releasing old patterns or issues, and open the door for healing by giving energy to positive patterns you will put in place. This is a powerful time to release, cast out, unburden yourself, purge etc. You then celebrate your emergence by stepping out of an old skin, identity, behaviour, attitude or relationship. The ritual helps you by marking this inner transformation in a formal way. Remember that any intentions stated or written down also carry power, so please take care in considering those things that you truly want. The saying “Be careful what you ask for, as you just might get it.” Is fair warning whenever setting your release intentions in motion. By casting your release notes (what you don’t want) in to the flames of the fire.
Full Moon is an opportune time of the month for purging rituals to take place. The light of the full moon often illuminates those things that are interfering with our spiritual advancements. Once we have become enlightened to ways that are blocking us, they are easier to let go of. The full moon ritual is for releasing or purging the things in our lives that no longer serve us such as addictions to food, drugs or sex, relinquishing suffering involved in hurtful relationships, discharging physical and emotional pains, etc.
The energy of a lunar eclipse is very powerful and has a potency strength lasting at least 6 months for any intentions set. In the six months to a year following a lunar eclipse astrologically speaking you can expect accelerated changes in the areas of life related to the realm of the family, home, as well as your emotional needs and habits. These changes in your life depend on where the eclipse falls in your own birth chart. The eclipses of 2014 and 2015 signify the path you blaze that uniquely yours.
Red Blood Moon
The rare red blood moons are a special occasion used for honouring and celebrating life or the blood flow of life. This energy of the moon can be used to energise fertility, abundance or communicate with spirit.
Rare Blood Moon lunar eclipse
This happens when the earth casts a long shadow that extends out into space. When the moon passes behind the earth, opposite of the sun (in other words the earth is in the middle) we cast a long shadow that hides the moon.
Now let’s say you had a space ship and traveled out between the Earth and the Moon during an eclipse. Look out the window back at Earth and you’ll be looking at the dark side. The Earth will be in silhouette and what you’re seeing is every sunrise and sunset on Earth–all at once. This ring of light shines into Earth’s shadow, breaking the utter darkness you might expect to find there. Turn off the cockpit lights and look at the Moon and there’s a lovely red glow.
What’s in the Earths atmosphere will also affect the color or shade of red reflected on the Moon. According to NASA, following a volcanic eruption, for instance, dust and ash can turn global sunsets vivid red. The moon would glow vivid red too. Lots of clouds on the other hand, extinguish sunsets leading to darker, dimmer eclipses. The Moon can shine as Pumpkin Orange to Deep Blood Red, all depending on the Earth’s weather or natural events.
In this century there will be 228 lunar eclipses of all types and 85 total eclipses.
What is rarer, is what is called a “tetrad.” This is a series of four total lunar eclipses in a row over a two-year period of time. Since the time of Christ there have been a total of 87 tetrads, including the last one that occurred in 2003-2004. In this century, we are scheduled to experience 8 tetrads, the most that can occur in a century’s time (some centuries have had none at all).
This is the time when the veil between our world and the spirit world are at its thinnest. Use this time for spiritual growth — if there’s a deceased ancestor you wish to contact, this is a great month to do it. Hold a séance, work on your divination, and pay attention to messages you get in your dreams. The Blood moon of tomorrow is the third one in the current tetrad.

Information from: www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/facts-lunar-eclipse.html
- The April 4, 2015 Total Lunar Eclipse is the third in a series of four Total Lunar Eclipses called the lunar tetrad. The first two eclipses of the tetrad took place on April 15, 2014 and October 8, 2014. The last eclipse will be on September 28, 2015.
- Notice something interesting about the dates? Each of the Lunar Eclipses in the tetrad occurs about 6 months apart and has 5 full Moons between them!
- Lunar tetrads can be rare in some centuries and can occur frequently in others. The 21st century will have eight lunar tetrads, the maximum number of lunar tetrads that can occur in a century. The last time this happened was in the 9th century!
- The next lunar tetrad of the 21st century will start with the Total Lunar Eclipse on April 25, 2032.
