Each week this year at the ‘Spiritual Development’ classes that I teach at my academy, we start the class with writing 3 things we are grateful for (this raises the vibration) and then I ask the students to set a goal that they would like to achieve for the week.
I must say I am impressed. Most of them now arrive and write down their 3 gratitudes without having to be reminded and they are also achieving a lot of goals. Each week we also check in to encourage each other and celebrate with each other.
This week we have cheekily agreed to pay a small penalty if we don’t achieve our goals. Some of them have even agreed to shout the rest of us a particular health drink (a Kombucha one …hmmm this should be interesting) as a motivator if they don’t achieve their goal. So we should all be getting healthy if some of us are not achieving, ha ha.
We were all having so much fun while planning and these classes always full of fun and laughter while learning. The best way to learn!
I must say I have found that it is not always easy to achieve the goals that we set, as life can get in the way. The idea though is to really, really try and not get too upset if you don’t get there.
For the first time, I haven’t achieved my goals for the last two weeks. I have been trying but just not getting there. One of my goals was to return to my beloved Zumba classes. I just adore dancing and Zumba is a way I can dance without worrying about having a partner to dance with.
One hour of bliss, moving my body to the music, sort of playing follow the leader, so I don’t get it wrong and hopefully getting fitter and maybe even get rid of the excess weight!
Now due to foot surgery on both my feet and traveling, I have not been able to get there and just when I thought I might be able to get back to Zumba, my podiatrist advises me not to do it until my new orthotics are made! Aargh!
An unachievable goal at this stage, at least for the next few weeks. Do I feel like I failed? NO! It was just not the right timing and acceptance is the best thing for me at the moment. Will I give up? NO! This is something that I will do and hopefully before the end of the year.
I guess what I am trying to say is don’t stop setting your goals, even if you have to put other goals on hold and understand that you are only human, but make sure you set other goals in the meantime so that you are always moving forward and feeling good about yourself for achieving.
Remember if you want something bad enough you will find a way. What goals can you set and what do you want to achieve? Keep setting your goals and turn your dreams into reality.
Even though our Development group that has been going for many years has full numbers, I have an online development group on a Thursday night, and even better when you join this group you can watch the replay of the class and previous classes. You can redo the exercise and meditation as many times as you want by watching the replay. Bonus! It is never too late to join us and you get access to the sessions that you missed in this round.
