Exciting times in Hong Kong.
When I was asked “How was Hong Kong?”, I didn’t hesitate to reply “Exciting!”.
Because Hong Kong is exciting, but it’s a lot of other things too.
Yes, it’s so hot and steamy this time of the year. Yes, it’s busy and harder to move around as there are people everywhere.
Yes, it’s polluted and therefore on some days that little bit harder to breathe and leaves us thinking we are so unfit until we go into the air conditioning and we’re back to normal.
Yes, there is rioting happening where there are more than 316,000 people demonstrating (luckily we have been able to dodge it).
So what’s exciting about it?
The different culture, the weird food options, that are normal to the locals but honestly I have never desired to experience a black fungus salad or deep-fried hog fat end, or marinated chicken gizzard, chicken testicles or that little delicacy called barbecued gooseneck… seriously! Let’s not forget the shredded spicy pork tripe option. Not happening!
What I do love is the bubble tea. To stay hydrated I have at least two a day, I do hope they are low in calories. Then there is the award winning ‘Mammy’s egg crate waffles, wow … my new breakfast option because I can’t face any of the before mentioned options.
I really love visiting all the different temples, there is so many of them, and absorbing the energy. We (my gorgeous and patient hubby and I) are enjoying the local Irish pub, (so expensive here it is $8.50 for soda water in any pub or restaurant), watching the dazzling light show from the top of a 40 story building and visiting all the markets.
While I have been here I have visited all the ribbon shops to buy ribbons for my next online course on ‘ribbon reading’. Who knew there could be so many shops selling ribbons! I buy them in Hong Kong then take them to a Chinese temple to absorb the sacred energy, so they will be ‘sacred energy-charged ribbons.’
What else am I doing? Lots of walking. Each day my goal is to walk at least 10,000 steps and that is easy to do when you are busy being distracted by all the sights.
Most people come here to shop, but that was not the purpose of my visit. I did get new glasses which created a new look and I took time out to recharge. That is something we all need to do especially with such a powerful Mercury in Retrograde, honestly, this one has been a doozy especially in the area of communications. I do hope it has not been too tough on you.
I look forward to resuming my online zoom Thursday night development sessions in August. Maybe you might like to join us and have some fun. You will have access to the replays, so you can watch the replays of the lessons as many times as you like.
Have a great week!
