As we go into the month of November I am reflecting on where the year has gone? I mean, to me it feels like it has just flown by. Some days I seem to be just getting through the day and then still thinking about all the things that I still have to do.
As you can imagine it can be hard to stop and actually say “I am done for the day” rather than “I will just fit in one more job or just do this one more thing” …. and then before you know it, you’re burnt out! It also leads to me sometimes feeling overwhelmed. Ha … an understatement!
So I have been working out a strategy, which I will share with you.
I thought what I would do is make a list of all those extra things, those just one more things that I have to do before I finish for the day and then prioritize it ready to resume the next day.
How do I know when my day is finished? My dogs come and tell me that they are ready to go for their walk or I tell myself that I need to fit in a walk before the sun sets. When you are self-employed there really isn’t a start and finish time and it gets worse if you are also working with international clients in different times zones. To have balance you have to put in some boundaries and try and stick to them. I will let you know how I go.
In the meantime, I am having fun with my online development class. It is a joy to teach them and watch their gifts unfolding and advancing. The online group has only just started for November, you can still join us each Thursday night if you’re interested.
